Scholarship funding

We operate a large scholarship fund each year which supports many of our students through their studies.

£1.4m+ of dedicated funds awarded solely to applicants of BPP’s postgraduate law courses.

For the 2025-26 academic year

At BPP, we are dedicated to supporting the brightest future talent from all backgrounds and committed to widening participation in the law and other professions. Which is why a significant portion of our scholarship funds is awarded to students from traditionally under-represented backgrounds.

Our range of scholarships include full fee, half fee and £3,000 awards to help make your career ambitions a reality. To simplify the process, we operate a single 'one application' process for our scholarships*.

*BTC Advocacy Scholarship and external scholarships have a separate application processes.

Scholarship criteria and deadlines

In your application, you will need to demonstrate evidence of your suitability as we assess your application against the relevant scholarship criteria.

Applications are now open for our September 2025 courses

  • Strong academics

  • Resilience: have you overcome significant challenges? Resilience is a valuable asset for a practising lawyer. We welcome candidates from under-represented backgrounds, first-generation students, and those who have experienced significant hardship.

  • Volunteering and/or pro bono experience: we value students who contribute to their local communities, whether through legal advice or other assistance.

  • Dedication to career progression: this includes extra-curricular activities and work experience, both in law and other fields.

  • Leadership, entrepreneurial, innovation, or other transferable skills: this is particularly relevant for career changers who study successfully at BPP.

The strongest applicants who apply by the full fee and half fee scholarship deadline will be required to complete a project to compete for these scholarships.

Other funding options

Payment plans for university courses

Once you have accepted a place onto a BPP University course, you can spread the cost of your fees across a number of instalments to make the payments more manageable.

Government-funded undergraduate loans

Government-funded loans are available for all our full-time and part-time undergraduate courses, including tuition fee loans and maintenance loans. This can help cover the cost of tuition fees and living costs while you study (subject to eligibility). Tuition fee loans are also available for EU students.

Loans from third party providers

Private or personal loans are different to more familiar routes of student finance. While there are dedicated lenders who offer products specifically for education, other mainstream funding options could be available depending on your circumstances.

Postgraduate master’s loan

You may be eligible for postgraduate loan funding from the UK Government via Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales, or Student Award Agency Scotland.
