Apprenticeship Overview

Drive high-level strategic decisions balancing business sense and financial responsibility. This programmes provides the opportunity to establish yourself with an unparalleled depth of understanding of financial systems. With expert level skills, you’ll learn how to analyse data and build complex mathematical models to evaluate financial risks. You’ll study economic principles and the fundamentals of corporate finance in more depth, learning how these apply directly to your role. 

Working with our experienced tutors, you’ll hone your communication skills, ensuring you’re able to share technical analyses with specialist and non-specialist stakeholders alike. You’ll establish yourself as a strong and effective leader, able to justify decisions with evidence that mitigates potential resistance. 

With this apprenticeship you’ll become a qualified IFoA actuary and will complete the following exams: Core mathematics (CM), Core Statistics (CM), Core Business (CB) and Core Practice (CP).

Where will the programme take you?

The Level 7 Actuary Apprenticeship is a global passport. With this internationally recognised qualification, combined with an intellectual ability that is maximised through this programme, you can work anywhere in the world as a qualified IFoA actuary. 

Who's eligible?

You must be eligible to join the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and willing to meet any requirements set by the individual employers. These typically include:  

  • A degree in a numerate subject such as mathematics, statistics or economics, or  

  • A degree in a non-numerate subject with a minimum grade B in A-Level mathematics or equivalent, or  

  • Have successfully completed a level 4 Actuarial Technician 

You must be employed in a role relevant to this programme to be eligible to apply.
