Entry requirements

The entry requirements to study the MSc Management are as follows:  

  • Minimum of a 2:2 Honours degree from a UK or recognised international university or equivalent such as the CMI, ILM, CIM, AICPA & CIMA at Level 6 or above.  

Following a review of applications, you may be required to:  

  • Attend a face-to-face interview, or  

  • Take part in a telephone interview

Course structure

Term 1

Academic and Assessment Support (0 credits)

This module helps you build a strong foundation of academic skills, ensuring you feel confident when it comes to demonstrating your abilities through the quality of your work.

Personal Effectiveness (15 credits)

Personal effectiveness is important for success in management and leadership. It means making use of resources at your disposal, which can both be personal and professional, to achieve your career goals. 

Leading Through Digital Disruption (15 credits)  

Leadership in the digital age is as much about people as it is about technology. In times of unprecedented uncertainty and, complexity, organisations need leaders who are effective interpersonally and can manage increasingly complex organisations.

Global Strategy and Sustainability (30 credits)

This module encourages you to engage with both current and classic strategic theories to understand the context of strategy in business organisations. You will examine the various tools and techniques available to managers for assessing the internal and external organisational environments. 

Term 2

Customer Experience Strategy (15 credits)  

With developments in marketing channels, brand choices, ecommerce and globalisation, the customer journey and the role of marketing has evolved. Now businesses must focus on the customer experience (CX) – improving how individuals interact with products or services. 

Data Driven Decisions for Business (15 credits)

Gain a wide range of numeracy and data fluency skills that allow you to analyse, evaluate and initiate data analytics and decision-making projects within an organisation. 

Management Essentials (30 credits)

Managers today need to develop a mastery of a blend of strategic thinking, business decision-making and management skills. This module is designed for managers seeking to develop themselves and their practice, using evidence-based theories and concepts. 

Term 3

Executive Leadership & Governance (30 credits)

Executive leaders in businesses today have a broad skillset which enables them to operate at the highest levels. In this module you will develop an appreciation of the key differences between management and leadership and you will gain insight into leadership challenges in a range of business contexts with a particular appreciation of governance and regulatory challenges. 

Business Project (30 credits)

Consolidate your learning and experience to date with the opportunity to demonstrate the commercial and business acumen needed to succeed and develop at senior management levels.

Professional Development Planning(exclusive to 18-month programme)

Embedded in the 18-month option, the PDP programme can contribute to your success at finding jobs and post-study work visa opportunities. It provides a structured approach to professional development, helping you gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to sustain a career in your chosen field.

You will receive additional sessions which run alongside academic terms to prepare for the six months of career practice which may include projects, voluntary works, placement or internship opportunities. *  

In addition to your academic study, you can benefit from:

*Please note, if you fall behind with your studies and cannot progress on your Master’s programme, you will not be eligible for the placement interview process. The Placements team works with an extensive range of employers to find work placement opportunities for our students. Placements may vary in length and may be paid or unpaid.  

How you'll study

Contact hours

Full-time students will typically receive eight contact hours per week and will need to devote at least 30 hours a week to study.  

Learning materials

All required learning materials are provided online as part of the course fee. This reflects modern working practices and minimises our environmental impact. Print on demand versions are available for students with specific learning needs.


Types of assessment

The programme features a variety of assessments including coursework and examinations.  

Coursework is in the form of essays, reports or case studies, while group or individual presentations may be required to assess other competencies.  

Examinations will be with written elements or multiple-choice questions and may be unseen or part-seen, where assessment material is released in advance.  

BPP University offers flexibility in how these assessments are undertaken, and the programmes will utilise online tools where available to deliver assessments. On occasion, some assessments may require attendance at a physical location.
