Turn your passion for healthcare into life-changing expertise. With our Nursing Associate apprenticeship, you’ll be the crucial link between healthcare assistants and registered nurses, ensuring patients are cared for effectively and compassionately.
From day one you’ll focus on practical application, becoming confident at managing complex, sensitive, and pressured situations. Working in multidisciplinary teams, you’ll learn how to assess, plan, implement, and then evaluate care on a case-by-case basis. This programme is ideal for you if you’re either an existing healthcare assistant looking to take your career to the next level, or if you’re looking to start your career in nursing and healthcare.
Where will the programme take you?
You’ll qualify with the skills to provide care for people of all ages and backgrounds, across a range of healthcare settings. Your training will be recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), where you’ll be able to register as a nursing associate.
If you’re looking to specialise further, you’ll be qualified to progress to the Level 6 Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship. This offers specialist pathways in adult, mental health, or paediatric nursing, and on completion you’ll become a Registered Nurse.
Who's eligible?
In accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (2018) standards, to be eligible for this apprentice nurse associate programme you must be employed in a relevant role in a care setting, and, as a minimum requirement, have:
Five GCSEs with grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English and maths, or equivalent, or
Demonstrate the ability to study a programme at academic level 4 through previously completed level 3 study, or
Demonstrate two or more years of experiential learning and evidence of ongoing CPD.
