Accessibility Statement for BPP.com

Our commitment

At BPP we are proud of our diverse community and inclusive environment. We want everyone to have equal access to our websites and digital products.

To support accessibility, we:

• have an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion office that leads on a wide range of strategies, initiatives and consultations

• work in partnership with diversity groups and networks, including Aspiring Solicitors, Access to Accountancy, Stonewall, NEON, Leadership through Sport and Business, 10000 Black Interns, the Race Equality Charter and The National Association of Disability Practitioners

• have an Accessibility Working Group within Product & Technology to promote good practice

Compliance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are an internationally recognised set of recommendations for improving web accessibility. There are 3 levels of compliance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. BPP is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA.

Known limitations

We are aware that parts of our website are not yet fully accessible. For example some:

• pages and downloads are not written in plain language

• pages and documents have low colour contrast

• heading elements are not ordered correctly

• images do not have image descriptions

• buttons are not correctly identified in code

• text and layout does not flow when the zoom is increased to 200%

• videos do not have closed captions (subtitles)

• screens are not fully accessible to screen readers and may be difficult to navigate using a keyboard

What we’re doing to improve

We’re working hard to improve the accessibility of our websites. We aim to:

• make accessibility testing part of our website production pipeline

• improve our knowledge of accessible design through education and training

• assess where closed captions can be added to videos and other media

• create governance to ensure all new design and development follows WCAG Level AA accessibility guidelines
