BPP University Scholarships Terms and Conditions from March 2022 onwards
Terms of Award
Scholarships made pursuant and subject to these Terms of Award are made by BPP University Limited (company number 02609100) (“BPP”).
By entering the competition for a scholarship, the entrant accepts these Terms of Award and agrees to be bound by the decisions of BPP in relation to the award of the scholarship.
Entrants acknowledge that the fulfilment of any scholarship may be subject to execution by the applicant of further documentation and/or the production of evidence to demonstrate satisfaction of the eligibility criteria in respect of any scholarship.
The winner or shortlisted candidate must complete all formalities with BPP, including participation in any required assessment or interview processes.
In the event that a scholarship passes to a runner-up in accordance with these Terms of Award, that runner-up shall be bound by these terms and conditions as though that runner-up were the winner.
The decision of BPP is final and no correspondence will be entered into concerning the award of a scholarship.
These Terms of Award and BPP’s general terms and conditions which apply in respect of all BPP programmes (“General Terms and Conditions”) apply to the scholarship and to the eligible BPP programme to which the scholarship will be applied. The General Terms and Conditions are available at https://www.bpp.com/terms-and-conditions/january-2022-onwards if you accepted your offer from 5 January 2022, and https://www.bpp.com/terms-and-conditions/november-2019-onwards if you accepted your offer between 18 November 2019 and 5 January 2022.
Please read these Terms of Award and the General Terms and Conditions carefully and print off a copy for your records. BPP will not file or otherwise keep a copy of the agreement concluded between you and BPP and a copy of the concluded agreement will not be available from BPP at a future time and date.
Subject to paragraph 16, these Terms of Award do not apply to scholarships awarded by external organisations, including but not limited to the BPP AS Foundation Scholarship.
BPP’s standard cancellation and deferral terms will apply to the relevant programme as set out in the General Terms and Conditions. Should any refund or credit note be due to a winner, the value of such refund or credit note will be the amount of fees actually paid by the winner excluding any discount awarded as a result of the scholarship.
BPP reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship at any time without notice. BPP may update or amend the scholarship, these Terms of Award and/or the General Terms and Conditions to comply with law or meet its changing business requirements without notice to you. Any updates or amendments will be posted on the BPP website at www.bpp.com.
Eligibility
Entrants must be eligible for the scholarship for which they are applying. Details of eligibility criteria are set out here: www.bpp.com/students/funding-your-studies/scholarships
“International Student” means a person who is a non-UK or non-Irish National, subject to any ongoing changes implemented as a result of Brexit (please see the General Terms and Conditions for more information), who has limited leave to remain in the United Kingdom.
“Sponsorship” refers to the full funding of programme fees from an external organisation (including an employer).
Employees, and their immediate families, of BPP are not eligible for any of the scholarships.
Bursaries and External Awards
Scholarship awards cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts, offers or bursaries offered by BPP or funded by BPP (either fully or in part) for the relevant programme, including but not limited to, the winners of Advocate of the Year Competition, BPP Campus Ambassador Scholarships, Bridge Scholarships, the BPP AS Foundation Scholarship and the Law Society’s Diversity Access Scheme.
No entrant may hold more than one scholarship or bursary from BPP at any time. If an entrant already holds a scholarship or bursary from BPP, they may still apply for a scholarship if the value of the second scholarship is higher than the previously awarded scholarship or bursary from BPP. If selected as a scholarship winner for the second scholarship, the second scholarship award will replace the previous award if the second scholarship is of a greater monetary value. For the avoidance of doubt, if an entrant is awarded more than one scholarship or bursary from BPP, the higher value award will always prevail, and the lower award will automatically lapse.
Subject to paragraph 14, eligibility for a BPP scholarship is not affected by any bursaries or scholarships of less than £5,000 awarded by an external organisation (including Inns of Court) but any such award of £5,000 or more shall disqualify the entrant from any BPP scholarship.
Applications and Assessment Process
Details of how to apply for a BPP Scholarship are set out here: www.bpp.com/students/funding-your-studies/scholarships.
You must only apply for scholarships that correspond with your intended programme and start date.
By submitting a scholarship application, you confirm that you meet or are on target to meet the minimum eligibility criteria. If it is later found that your application did not meet the minimum criteria on the date of the application or you no longer meet the minimum eligibility criteria for the scholarship, any outstanding application will be rejected without further review and any award that may have been made will be rescinded.
By submitting a scholarship application, you confirm that you have provided all information and evidence required and the accuracy of this information and evidence. Once submitted, no further amendments or additions to your application will be accepted.
Multiple applications for a single scholarship will be disqualified.
Applications submitted after the relevant deadline will not be accepted.
BPP will not under any circumstances be responsible or accept any liability for any loss or damage caused by technical issues during the application process, including the failure to submit an application.

Due to the volume of applications received, we are unable to provide individual feedback on scholarship applications.
Provision of Scholarship Award
Provision of a scholarship is subject to the relevant winner accepting all terms and conditions relevant to the scholarship and the relevant programme.
If you are notified that you have been successful in your scholarship application and have not yet accepted your BPP offer, you must do so within 14 days of receiving the notification. Failure to do this will result in BPP withdrawing your award and providing it to another shortlisted candidate.
The relevant programme must be commenced at a BPP centre in the United Kingdom on its relevant start date. No deferral of the scholarship or transfer to another centre will be permitted.
Entrants who require a student visa to study with BPP are responsible for obtaining their own visa and meeting any necessary visa requirements and for ensuring that their attendance is satisfactory to meet those visa requirements. BPP will not admit any person to a programme unless that person has the legal right to study the relevant programme in the United Kingdom. Where a winner is unable to demonstrate such right, the relevant scholarship may be offered to a runner-up and BPP will have no liability to the original winner in relation to the scholarship.
By submitting a scholarship application, you acknowledge that, if your application is successful, BPP may request that you attend BPP events as a BPP student ambassador, and you agree to attend a maximum of three of such events upon BPP’s reasonable request.
BPP has the right to withdraw the offer of any scholarship or shortlist place and select an alternative winner or shortlist candidate if:
BPP is unable to reach a winner or shortlisted candidate regarding their successful or shortlisted application, using the contact details provided by the candidate upon registration;
BPP does not receive from the winner or shortlisted candidate all documentation required in connection with the scholarship within any deadline notified by BPP;
the shortlisted candidate is unavailable on any specific interview or assessment dates notified at the time of entry;
a winner does not accept their BPP offer within 14 days of receiving the notification;
following the submission of a scholarship application, a winner or shortlisted candidate has since become ineligible for the scholarship for any reason (e.g. gaining sponsorship);
a winner is unable or unwilling to commence the relevant programme, on the relevant start date, at the relevant BPP centre.
a winner requires a student visa to study with BPP and is unable to obtain such a visa or meet any necessary visa requirements;
a winner does not accept or breaches any terms and conditions relating to the programme.
Payment of Scholarship Award
Full fee scholarships - the Scholarship Award will entitle you to a free place on a BPP University Undergraduate or Postgraduate programme and is therefore only redeemable by enrolling on the programme for the intake you applied for that is connected to your scholarship application. For the avoidance of doubt, if you defer the start date for your programme, the award of any scholarship will automatically lapse. In such circumstances, you would need to re-apply for any scholarship and there is no guarantee that you would be successful in any further application.
All other scholarships - a scholarship award acts as a reduction from your BPP programme fees and is therefore only redeemable by enrolling on the programme. If you pay your programme fees by instalments, then the reduction applies to the final instalment(s) due to BPP after all other sums have been paid by you. Please ensure you make payment of the first instalment as usual, and Student Finance will let you know when you can stop making instalment payments.
The scholarship is non-transferable by winners (to either another student or to any other programme run by BPP).
No cash alternative will be offered.
Unless otherwise stated, the scholarship will not include travel, accommodation, food, living costs, relocation costs, any other financial support of any kind, additional study materials and any amounts payable to any professional body in order to participate in the relevant programme or any costs associated with exemptions and examination entries.
Data Protection
BPP will process the information it receives from you or otherwise holds about you in accordance with these Terms of Award, the General Terms and Conditions, and its privacy policy, which is available at https://www.bpp.com/privacy.
In order to process your application and arrange interviews or screening assessments, BPP may use your personal data and contact you about your application using the personal data provided.
Miscellaneous
Except in the case of death or personal injury caused by its negligence or that of its personnel (for which liability shall be unlimited), BPP shall not be liable to any winner or entrant (and/or any guest of any winner or entrant) for any loss or damage howsoever caused (whether in contract, tort or otherwise) arising out of or in connection with this bursary.
BPP is not liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation to the winner or other applicant that is caused by any circumstances beyond its reasonable control or by any act or omission of any third party.
These Terms of Award and any non-contractual obligation arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English laws, and BPP and the winner and any applicant irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts with regard to any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms of Award and any non-contractual obligation arising out of or in connection with them.
