BPP Law Scholarship winners announced
BPP is pleased to announce the first winners of its September 2019 law awards, ahead of the final scholarships application deadline on 31 August.
BPP is pleased to announce its first full fee scholarships winners for the new academic year, ahead of the final scholarships application deadline for September starters on 31 August.
With a value of more than £1 million, BPP offers one of the largest scholarship funds in postgraduate legal education, including 10 full-fee scholarships for the brightest emerging legal talent.
Sapphire Elisha and Kurt Satney have been awarded the Vice Chancellor’s and Pro Vice Chancellor’s Scholarships respectively, recognising their exceptional achievements in pursuit of their legal careers, and outstanding contributions made during their current studies at BPP.
“I am beyond grateful to have received the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship. I would not have been able to afford to accept without the support to cover my LPC fees. My plans are now to work full time as a paralegal alongside my part time studies and ultimately I am working towards qualifying as a solicitor. This scholarship is the difference between me being able to pursue my ambitions and not. The Vice Chancellor could not have bestowed his scholarship on a more grateful recipient and I can’t possibly convey the impact this has had on my life plans.”
Sapphire Elisha, LPC award winner
“The Pro Vice Chancellor’s award indicates that BPP fully appreciates hardworking and dedicated students. I was recognised for putting my all into my studies and giving back to the university by volunteering my time and energy in encouraging inclusion & diversity, supporting the student voice, volunteering on pro bono projects and being an overall ambassador for BPP in the wider community. I thank the incredible team dedicated to student success at BPP University for this achievement.“
Kurt Satney, Aspiring barrister
Further full-fee scholarship winners include Angelo Lavan Mogan and Roshan De Stone, who were both awarded BPP’s Future Leader Scholarship for law students who show drive, ambition and outstanding leadership and innovation.
Eve French and Carleen Sobczyk have both secured the Dean of the Law School Scholarship, aimed at students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement in their previous studies.
Four Lord Holmes Scholarships were granted, which is named after the Chancellor of BPP University Lord Chris Holmes. These have been won by James Dutschak Kavanagh, Nastasia Sonego, Alexa Thompson and Leyla Benali.
"We received a large number of applications for scholarships this year. The calibre of the applicants and the quality of their applications was extremely high. The winners stood out for a variety of reasons. They should be proud of their achievements to date and I look forward to welcoming them to BPP and to seeing them progress further during their studies with us"
Andrew Chadwick, Dean of BPP University Law School
Applications close on 31 August.
GDL and LPC hopefuls can still apply for BPP’s September 2019 Career Commitment scholarships, worth £2,000 each.
