Apprenticeship standard: Senior Insurance Professional

Lead with expertise that inspires teams and drives change. As a senior professional, you’ll learn new tools and techniques to transform your role as an insurance practitioner, and push your career further by gaining the CII Advanced Diploma in Insurance alongside your apprenticeship.

Become the key to delivering effective, robust, and compliant services that drives your organisation forward. Taking degree level knowledge into your role, you’ll benefit from advanced and detailed study with technical knowledge and skills to meet challenges and get results. 

Backed by the highly valued Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Advanced Diploma in Insurance, you’ll prove you’re confident with a range of insurance areas, including broking, law, governance, and systems and processes. You’ll also have the opportunity to take up to seven additional modules to build your specialist knowledge and shape your career trajectory.

Where will the programme take you?

Drive change at the senior levels of your organisation. This apprenticeship will prepare you to perform your role with confidence, enhancing client relationships and bringing technical expertise to your teams.  

You’ll set yourself apart as a highly trained subject specialist, with a broad range of tools to support your organisation and drive ambitious business goals. 

On completion of this apprenticeship, you’ll be able to become a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute. If you have more than five years’ sector experience you’ll also be able to apply for CII Chartered status

Who's eligible?

Eligibility can vary depending on the requirements of the individual employer, but typically includes:   

  • A degree or prior CII qualification 

  • Five GCSEs with grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English and maths, or equivalent
