ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency

Equally beneficial for both experienced and inexperienced professionals, the ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency offers a practical introduction to the principles of insolvency.

ICAEW CII qualification

Gain industry recognition with combined corporate and personal insolvency knowledge and build a successful career with this invaluable first step towards an Insolvency Practitioner Licence.

Both a standalone qualification, and an excellent entry level to the Joint Insolvency Examinations Board (JIEB) exams, this course explores fundamental topics and builds a strong, working understanding of the profession. The examination to assess your knowledge is two-and-a-half-hours long, with 80 multiple-choice questions and objective tests. You will usually receive your results around 24 hours after completion.

Throughout your Certificate in Insolvency course, we will provide the most up-to-date study texts and guides. Tutor support is provided and we will also help you prepare with practice questions and tests, to make sure you are fully ready for your exams.

You will study via our Online Classroom Live where you will participate in interactive live scheduled lectures with tutor support. You will also be able to catch up on any live lectures you miss with the recorded versions.

CII Syllabus Core areas:

  • Legal and Regulatory Framework for Insolvency (15%)

  • Concepts and Principles of Insolvency (25%)

  • Corporate Insolvency (40%)

  • Personal Insolvency (20%)

Entry requirements and exemptions

No previous experience or qualifications are needed. To sit the ICAEW CII exam, you need to register with the ICAEW before signing up for your training and materials with us. 

Once registered for the Certificate with the ICAEW, you become a member of the ICAEW Restructuring & Insolvency Community – ideal for keeping receiving updates and guidance on key technical, compliance and regulatory issues. You can also register for the JIEB exam for free. Alternatively, you can also take the ICAEW Certificate as a module to complement the ICAEW ACA qualification and the Certificate in Finance Accounting and Business (CFAB).

The final ICAEW CII assessment costs £300 + VAT.
