Developing Healthcare Leaders (30 credits)
Explore current thinking about leadership issues in a range of healthcare settings. You will dive into current leadership theories, techniques, tools and models that can be applied in diverse healthcare practices or situations, working with and through others.
Principles of Management (30 credits)
Develop insights into managing day-to-day operations and activities, seeking to make the best use of available resources to meet contrasting stakeholders’ expectations. You will also critically reflect on your own management competencies to design a skills development plan which focuses on your career aims and objectives, to make you an effective manager.
Leading Through Digital Change (15 credits)
Gain insight into digital transformation strategies, learning how to lead through organisational change. You will consider the nature and role of leadership in an ever-changing environment and learn how to use data to help you make informed decisions. You will also explore the effective use of artificial intelligence to drive growth and innovation.
Quality Improvement Project Proposal (15 credits)
In this module, you’ll produce a proposal for your final project, outlining the investigation area, the research questions, types of information collected, and how it will be used. You’ll learn how to undertake effective research and produce a health research report, providing a platform for further development of self-management, project management, and other important management skills.
Introduction to Global Health Leadership (30 credits)
This module introduces the foundational principles, concepts, and practices essential to global and public health, providing a comprehensive overview of the factors that shape health outcomes globally. You will explore health policies, sociological implications, and pressing health concerns, from infectious disease outbreaks to chronic conditions influenced by environmental and socioeconomic factors. You’ll develop the critical skills needed to analyse and address complex health issues, equipping them to contribute effectively to promoting health within diverse populations across the globe.
Quality Improvement Project (30 credits)
Undertake a range of activities aimed at enhancing your research, analytical, project management, and problem-solving capabilities. This module bridges academic theory and practical application, equipping you with a holistic understanding of healthcare environments.
Leading in Global Health Complexity (30 credits)
Develop a critical understanding of the complexity of healthcare services and advanced knowledge and skills needed to contextualise healthcare leadership within nations but with global trends in view. The topics explore the interactions between international healthcare policy, governance, and regulation, and their impact on quality, planning and delivery of interventions.
The PDP provides a structured approach to professional development, helping you gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to sustain a career in your chosen field.
You will receive additional sessions which run alongside academic terms to prepare for the six months of career practice which may include projects, voluntary works, placement or internship opportunities. *

Examinations will be both written and electronic including assessment techniques which may include elements or multiple-choice questions and maybe unseen or part-seen, where assessment material is released in advance.
