About the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance (ADAF)
Fully accredited programme, aligned to ACCA.
Avoid double assessments by studying our ACCA Approved Content and sitting ACCA exams. Upon successful completion, you will earn an Advanced Diploma from BPP University. You will also be part-qualified with the ACCA if you achieve exemptions from all six modules.

Entry requirements
The entry requirements for our Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance are as follows:
120 minimum UCAS tariff points and GCSE or equivalent (grade 4/C or above) in English language and maths; and
Passes in the first three ACCA papers (BT, MA, FA); or
A Foundations In Accountancy qualification
Students need to be registered as an ACCA student (this is at the student’s own responsibility and cost)

Course structure
Corporate and Business Law – LW (30 credits)
Gain an understanding of the general legal and framework of English law and of the specific legal areas relating to business.
Performance Management – PM (30 credits)
Performance management is a major area of management accounting, and this module ensures you have an understanding of how a business should be managed and controlled, and how information systems can be used to facilitate this.
Taxation – TX (30 credits)
With an introduction to taxation, you’ll learn the core knowledge of the underlying principles and major technical areas of taxation as they affect the activities of individuals and businesses.
Financial Reporting – FR (30 credits)
Develop the knowledge and skills you need to understand and apply accounting standards and theoretical frameworks in the preparation of financial statements of entities, including groups, and how to analyse and interpret those financial statements.
Audit and Assurance – AA (30 credits)
Discover what it means to be an auditor in an audit professional services firm, learning the process of planning and performing audits to minimise audit failure, and start to evaluate the major areas of current debate informing professional practice.
Financial Management – FM (30 credits)
Examine the role and purpose of the financial management function within a business, covering the key decisions of where to invest, how to finance investments, and how much of the returns from investments should be paid in dividends.
How you'll study
Contact hours
Students will typically study two modules during each term and will attend a full day of classes for each module. You will be expected to undertake six hours of independent study per module, per week.
Learning materials
All required learning materials are provided online as part of the course fee. This reflects modern working practices and minimises our environmental impact. Print on demand versions are available for students with specific learning needs.
Types of assessment
Exams will mirror the relevant ACCA examination for each module.
BPP University offers flexibility in how these assessments are undertaken, and the programmes will utilise online tools where available to deliver assessments. On occasion, some assessments may require attendance at a physical location.
