Apprenticeship overview

BPP’s Level 4 Professional Accounting or Taxation Technician Apprenticeship will help you learn how to apply your role within a business framework, understand the systems and processes used, as well as standard accounting and tax practices.   

This course provides fundamental financial skills that can lead to a wide variety of roles, so is an excellent way to explore accounting and tax as a career. 

A range of professional accountancy body options are available on the programme, so apprentices can work through official study papers alongside an apprenticeship to earn a recognised qualification. 

Who is this programme for? 

Our courses are for anyone looking to explore both accounting and tax as a career.  

The Level 4 Accounting Apprenticeship would suit roles such as: 

  • Assistant Auditor   

  • Assistant Management Accountant   

  • Assistant Financial Accountant   

  • Personal Tax Assistant   

  • Business Tax Assistant  

Where will the programme take you? 

After completion, you can apply for membership to the relevant professional body, build a thriving career in a range of relevant job roles, and progress to our Accountancy or Taxation Professional Level 7 Apprenticeship to become a fully qualified Accountant.  

Who’s eligible? 

Eligibility is set by individual employers, but typically includes: 

  • Grade C or above in at least 5 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics 
    OR 

  • Significant work experience 

To apply for Level 4 AAT, we strongly advise that you complete the Level 3 AAT qualification or apprenticeship first.  

All apprentices must be employed in a role relevant to the programme to be eligible to apply.
