Entry requirements
The entry requirements to study the MSc Technology Management with Software Leadership are as follows:
A minimum of a 2:2 bachelor’s degree in STEM, or equivalent international STEM qualification; or
A non-STEM bachelor’s degree (2:1 minimum) with relevant STEM experience; or
A relevant professional qualification equivalent to level 6 combined with professional experience may also be considered

Academic and Assessment Support (0 credits)
This module helps you build a strong foundation of academic skills, ensuring you feel confident when it comes to demonstrating your abilities through the quality of your work.
Principles of Management (30 credits)
On this module, you will develop an insight into managing day to day operations and activities, seeking to make best use of resources to meet stakeholder’s expectations. You’ll design a skills development plan which focusses on your career aims and objectives to propel your management development.
Technology in Business (15 credits)
Gain an overview into the fundamental components that constitute a typical business IT architecture as well as the emerging technologies used to enhance and support it. You’ll cover areas including networking fundamentals, on-premises IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cyber security, data management and analytics, and emerging technologies. This module will give you a depth of understanding into how technology support and enhances business operation.
IT Project Management (15 credits)
Dive into the essential skills needed to manage, plan, and deliver technology-based projects effectively. This module covers project management fundamentals, styles, team topologies, and project management tools.
Digital Innovation and Transformation (15 credits)
Explore the concepts and practices of digital innovation and transformation. You’ll understand how digital technologies drive innovation and disrupt traditional business models, and examine the nature of digital disruption, emerging technologies and the impact of digital transformation. Learn new strategies for fostering innovation, understanding disruptive forces and navigating digital transformation.
Technology Management Project Proposal (15 credits)
Develop a comprehensive project proposal tackling real-world challenges in technology management. You’ll be guided in creating a strategic and detailed plan for your project proposal.
DevOps Project Management and Leadership (30 credits)
This module covers essential DevOps concepts, leadership skills, CI/CD methodologies, infrastructure as code, monitoring, risk management, and effective collaboration and communication strategies. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills you need to manage and lead DevOps projects successfully.
Technology Management Project (30 credits)
During this module you’ll integrate and apply the knowledge skills you’ll developed through the programme. Work on a comprehensive project that address real-world challenges in technology management, and demonstrate your ability to conduct independent research, develop innovating solutions and present your findings.
Software Architecture and Design Leadership (30 credits)
Explore the principles and practices of software architecture and design, focusing on the leadership skills necessary to guide and manage architectural decisions and design processes. This module covers fundamental concepts in software architecture, design patterns, leadership strategies, emerging trends, and practical applications. You’ll have the skills and knowledge to lead software architecture and design initiatives effectively.
Embedded in the 18-month option, the PDP programme can contribute to your success at finding jobs and post-study work visa opportunities. It provides a structured approach to professional development, helping you gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to sustain a career in your chosen field.
You will receive additional sessions which run alongside academic terms to prepare for the six months of career practice which may include projects, voluntary works, placement or internship opportunities. *

How you'll study
Contact hours
Full-time students will typically receive 10 contact hours per week and will need to devote at least 28 hours a week to study.
Learning materials
All required learning materials are provided online as part of the course fee. This reflects modern working practices and minimises our environmental impact. Print on demand versions are available for students with specific learning needs.
Types of assessment
The programme features a variety of assessments including coursework and examinations.
Coursework is in the form of essays, reports or case studies, while group or individual presentations may be required to assess other competencies.
Examinations will be with written elements or multiple-choice questions and may be unseen or part-seen, where assessment material is released in advance.
BPP University offers flexibility in how these assessments are undertaken, and the programmes will utilise online tools where available to deliver assessments. On occasion, some assessments may require attendance at a physical location.
