Apprenticeship Overview

Our Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist Apprenticeship provides the hands-on skills to implement technical and procedural controls to monitor, detect, and respond to cyber security threats, maintaining digital data integrity and confidentiality.  

The programme has been designed to cover all three pathways included in the apprenticeship standard: Security Engineer, Risk Analyst or Defend and Respond. You’ll build your knowledge across cyber risk analysis, incident response, and understand how to create a security-aware culture within your organisation.

This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals starting a career in cyber security. It’s designed for those interested in protecting digital environments and managing security threats.

Suitable roles include: 

  • Cyber Security Engineer 

  • Cyber Risk Analyst 

  • Cyber Defender and Responder

The Cyber Security Technologist Apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for a career in cyber security. You’ll be prepared for roles such as Cyber Security Analyst, Information Security Officer, or Network Security Specialist. The skills gained will enable you to manage and mitigate cyber risks effectively, advancing your career in this critical field and meeting the increasing demand for skilled cyber security professionals. 

Who's eligible?

Eligibility can vary depending on the requirements of the individual employer, but typically includes:  

  • Three A-Levels or equivalent (and GCSE English and maths)   

OR  

  • Significant work experience   

  To apply for this programme you must be employed in a relevant role.
