BPP announced as provider for two of the Government’s latest digital upskilling apprenticeship programmes
BPP Education Group, the UK’s leading provider of apprenticeships, has secured the national delivery of high-quality, innovative apprenticeships to the Civil Service nationwide.
Under the TechTrack programme, BPP’s School of Technology will deliver the business analyst apprenticeship, which will help individuals undertake research and analysis to understand how a business or business area works.
This follows a formal tender process by the Cabinet Office on behalf of the Civil Service Apprenticeship Unit and was managed through Crown Commercial Service (CCS). CCS supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2023/2024, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £4.9 billion, supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.
Through these bespoke Level 4 apprenticeships, CDDO (Central Digital and Data Office’s) TechTrack programme will target a reduction in the most critical vacancies in the digital and data workforce across the Civil Service, reducing spend on contingent labour and generating a sustainable pipeline of permanent, diverse digital talent. These apprenticeships will play a key part in supporting the Government’s vision for transforming public services and fuelling economic growth.
The apprenticeship programme is open to all current civil servants as well as external candidates and starts at Higher Executive Officer (HEO) level, with individuals earning the equivalent salary whilst learning skills and gaining experience. This apprenticeship can be completed over 18 months and stands out from other apprenticeships because the programme is specifically tailored to the role, and includes AI capability training and customised leadership skills to ensure progression.
It will see BPP Education Group continue to support the Civil Service to develop its talent pipeline in the face of the ever-growing tech skills gap, grow capabilities and realise the ambitions of the Civil Service Apprenticeship Strategy.
Cassie McDonald, Dean of BPP University School of Technology commented: “This is a testament to our expertise and capabilities in the tech sector. Collaborating with the central government is a prestigious opportunity that speaks to the trust and confidence placed in our teams and we are excited by the potential to make impactful contributions to such a significant initiative.”
